📖 Psalm 118 Verses 1 – 2 & 19 – 29
📖 Matthew Chapter 21 Verses 1 – 11
Lord Jesus Christ on this Palm Sunday we remember your entrance to Jerusalem
We hear the cries and adulation of the crowd, the joy, the excitement
But we know what is to come and so do you.
But still you ride, to face the danger to face the pain.
You enter not in pomp and circumstance but in humility.
Loving God as we face the pain of this time, the uncertainty and the worry
Grant us the same sense of humility that Christ showed.
Lord we do not have the answers, we do not understand that which is befalling us
But as with Christ we put our faith in you, our loving father.
Holy Spirit, empower and strengthen all of those working at this difficult time to help others
Bless all in the NHS from cleaner and porter to surgeon and administrator.
Be with all our frontline services striving to keep us safe.
Guide our politicians that they work together for the good of all.
Thank you oh Lord for all working in the supermarkets and the supply chains that allow us to continue to be fed, may we learn from this time never to take these things for granted ever again.
Lord give strength to those who find their jobs in jeopardy, in the uncertainty give them peace.
Above all O God we remember those who worry for all who are ill and for all who mourn their loved ones. Enfold them in your love and care. We pray not only for our own country and community but for the world family who suffer as we do today but very often not with the same support that we are blessed with here. Lord hear the cries of all your children.
Lord of Hope bless all who we love and share our journey with as we bring them before you in prayer now, and bless us that we may know that we are never alone, for you are with us always.
Lord of life hear our prayers.
